Centennial High School in Boise, Idaho. Although the school is located in Boise, it is separated by the Meridian School District in nearby Meridian, Idaho. The school opened in 1987 and serves neighborhoods in western Boise and Meridian. Centennial features some of the most successful high school sports programs in Idaho. Between 1988 and 2006 Centennial Patriots sports teams won a total of 2.5 state championships in football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, cross country, and track and field. The Patriot student body also has access to a released-time seminary program which gives them the opportunity to study religious topics away from the campus during the school day. They are known for receiving their instruction from some of the most enlightened and engaging instructors within the Educational System of Churches. Although not associated with the state public school in any way, the seminary is pleased and proud to associate with the outstanding students of Centennial High School.


The school's Sweet Liberty Dance Team is a 3-time defending national champion (2004, 2005 and 2006). Centennial also has a strong marching band program as well as multiple state championships in academic decathlon, and yearbook competitions. The yearbook took 4th in nationals in its division (size of book). The Drama team has won four years running in the state competition.


The school newspaper is the Patriot Ledger, which is a member of the High School National Ad Network. Sofia Huerta has tried her darndest to blend in with the much older girls on the Centennial High girls soccer team this season.
Centennial senior midfielder Catherine Leewaye said Huerta's addition this season has only been positive.
Huerta was not an unknown when she started the season.As an eighth grader at Lowell Scott Middle School in January, Huerta, 14, was one of 28 players named to the U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Developmental Program national pool for her age.
