CDT was an early and active participant in the development and deployment of GetNetWise, and encourages its use by families and its adoption by businesses.

CDT believes that the intent of the law and the FTC's proposed Rule is to place liability on the shoulders of those who can best handle it: the entity that is collecting and using the information (operator).
CDT believes that the FTC should require operators to inform parents of the uses that third parties will make of their child's information and to inform parents if the third-parties information practices differ in a material way from the operators.
CDT would also suggest that it is possible that all changes may not rise to the level of requiring additional consent.
