Centerville is a town located in Washington County, Maine. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 26.


As of 2003, the town meeting voted to dissolve the town government and return it to unincorporated territory; the disincorporation is scheduled to be complete as of July 2004.


Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 111.3 km˛ (43.0 mi˛). 108.6 km˛ (41.9 mi˛) of it is land and 2.7 km˛ (1.1 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 2.47% water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 26 people, 12 households, and 6 families residing in the town. The population density is 0.2/km˛ (0.6/mi˛). There are 24 housing units at an average density of 0.2/km˛ (0.6/mi˛). The racial makeup of the town is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 12 households out of which 25.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% are married couples living together, 8.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 41.7% are non-families. 41.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 0.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
