4% | Central is a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's 'L' system, on the Purple Line at 1022 Central Street in Evanston, Illinois (directional coordinates 2600 north, 1000 west).Landmarks close to the station are Evanston Hospital, a fire station, Peter Jans golf course, and the parking lot for the Chandler Newburger Recreation Center. Ryan Field (formerly known as Dyche Stadium), the home of Northwestern University's football team, and Welsh-Ryan Arena, the home of Northwestern's basketball team, are a few blocks west of the station. Just past Ryan Field on the north side of the street is the Evanston landmark Mustard's Last Stand, a hot dog stand that specializes in the bacon double cheeseburger.
