Tian'anmen is right at the centre of Beijing, and is directly to the south of the well-known Forbidden City, and to the east of Zhongnanhai, current residence of the paramount leaders of the People's Republic of China.
It is linked into centralBeijing the Airport Expressway and is a roughly 40-minute drive from the city centre during good traffic hours.
Born in Beijing in the People's Republic of China, Zhang joined the Beijing Dance Academy at the age of 11, and at 15 she entered China's prestigious CentralAcademy of Drama.
Her next film was the avant-garde drama Purple Butterfly which competed at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival.
