The Central Division is one of four divisions that make up the Arena Football League. It's also one of two divisions that make up the "American Conference." The division was first formed in 1995 when expansion teams were formed and put into the current divisions. The division currently consists of the Chicago Rush, the Colorado Crush, the Grand Rapids Rampage, the Kansas City Brigade, and the Nashville Kats. The Rush were formed in 2001 as an expansion team, the Crush were formed in 2003 as an expansion team in the AC Western and then moved to the AC Central in 2004, the Rampage were formed in 1998 as an expansion team, the Brigade joined the Central Division after spending their inagural season in the NC Southern as a fill-in for the New Orleans VooDoo (who were ravaged by Hurricane Katrina), while the Kats were formed in 1997 as an expansion team for NC Eastern. Then, in 1998, they moved to the NC Southern and played there from 1998-2001 before going being out the league for three seasons and coming back in 2005 in the AC Central. The Arena Football League (AFL) (not to be confused with The Australian Football League) was founded in 1987 as an American football indoor league. ...
