New Delhi, June 4 The Centre is considering a proposal for raising an exclusive force for providing security to VIPs and for charging those protected except the ones assessed as targets of terrorists or organised mafia.
Instead, the proposal aims at having a single specialised force possibly under the Central Industrial Security Force, which is presently responsible for the security of important people.
Considering the number of central and state leaders who are being provided with VIP security, the official said that having a single force dedicated to VIP security would reduce the burden on paramilitary and police forces.
