Central Islip is located at 40° 47' 3" North, 73° 11' 57" West (40.784194, -73.199062)GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 18.8 km² (7.3 mi²), all land. Its schools are the Early Childhood Center, Anthony Alfano School, Andrew T. Morrow Elementary, Francis J. O'Neill Elementary, Marguerite Mulvey Elementary, Cordello Ave. Elementary, Mulligan Intermediate School, Ralph G. Reed Middle School, and Central Islip Senior High School. There is also a private Catholic School located within the town, Our Lady of Providence Regional School. Also, Central Islip homes NYIT (New York Institute of Technology), and Touro Law school, located next to the local Supreme Court building. As of 2007, the [Central Islip Civic Council] announced that Central Islip's Downtown area will be renovated. Central Islip is a boom-town. Jobs are being created as a cause of so much construction going on. Central Islip is the home of many developments. They are: College Woods, Park Row, Bella Casa Estates, Islip Landings, Courthouse Commons, Waddington Estates, and Coventry Village. Because of all of this, C.I.'s population is growing at a rapid rate. The value of all of these new buildings are millions of dollars.
