Central Lake Township is a township located in Antrim County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 2,254. The village of Central Lake is located within the township.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 81.0 km˛ (31.3 mi˛). 71.5 km˛ (27.6 mi˛) of it is land and 9.6 km˛ (3.7 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 11.82% water.
Demographics As of the census2 of 2000, there are 2,254 people, 921 households, and 661 families residing in the township. The population density is 31.5/km˛ (81.7/mi˛). There are 1,479 housing units at an average density of 20.7/km˛ (53.6/mi˛). The racial makeup of the township is 97.74% White, 0.00% African American, 1.20% Native American, 0.09% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.13% from other races, and 0.84% from two or more races. 0.40% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 921 households out of which 27.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.5% are married couples living together, 8.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.2% are non-families. 23.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.41 and the average family size is 2.81.
In the township the population is spread out with 22.5% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 26.6% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who are 65 years of age or older.
