Central Saint Martins was created in 1989 from the Central School of Arts and Crafts (founded in 1896) and St Martins School of Art. The Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (also called Central Saint Martins, Saint Martins or simply known as CSM amongst students and staff) is one of the leading colleges of art and design in England.
It is part of the University of the Arts London along with Chelsea College of Art and Design, London College of Communication (LCC, b/k/a London College of Printing), London College of Fashion (LCF) and Camberwell College of Arts.
Central Saint Martins was created in 1989 from the joining of Central School of Art and Design (founded in 1896) and St Martin's School of Art (founded in 1854).
City of Lake Charles - Central School Arts and Humanities Center (806 words)
Championed by historic preservationists and arts advocates in the early 1990s, the restoration of the Central School in Lake Charles and its transformation into the Central School Arts and Humanities Center is having what Mayor Willie L. Mount describes as “a tremendous impact" in the community.
Arts Associates donated the funds to turn a classroom space into a true gallery that is open to the public and is available for a variety of exhibits.
Central School has a wonderful history of serving the citizens of Lake Charles, and we are fortunate that it now has a bright future of doing the same.
