Chad Allan (né Allan Kowbel, born March 29, 1943) is a Canadian musician and founding member of Chad Allan and The Silvertones. This band, which became Chad Allan and the Reflections and then Chad Allan and The Expressions, would go on to become The Guess Who. He was the group's original lead singer and front man, as well as rhythm guitarist, songwriter and occasionally drummer and pianist. He is credited with bringing notable musicians Bob Ashley, Jim Kale, Randy Bachman, and Garry Peterson, into his early bands. He was also a founding member of Brave Belt which on his departure would go on to become Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
