History
Chaka first appears in the episode "The First Ones", when he kidnapps Daniel Jackson on P3X-888. Daniel is dragged through the woods by the until then unnamed Unas and over time is able to communicate with him and conclude that his name is Chaka. Chaka even saves him from becoming a host for a Goa'uld symbiote. When the two eat in a cave, Daniel sees paintings on the walls and realizes, that Chaka is a young Unas who wants to prove himself by capturing and killing a beast – in his case Daniel. He then marks him by scrapping his face and brings him before the leader of his tribe but instead of killing Daniel, Chaka pleads for his life and even kills the leader when he attacks Daniel. Thus Chaka becomes the new leader of the tribe and wants Daniel to join them, but Daniel has to decline. Image File history File links Stargate-earth-glyph. ...

A year later (in the episode "Beast of Burden"), hunters from another world and who use Goa'uld weapons, capture Chaka and bring him to their world. Daniel, who has studied the Unas during the past year and learned some of their words, witnesses the capturing of his friend on a video and General Hammond allows SG-1 to free Chaka. The team visits the world of the hunters and it turns out that the people there use the Unas as slaves for hard labor since a long time ago the people on this world were slaves to the Goa'uld. Daniel and O'Neill try to free Chaka but he doesn't want to let the other Unas alone. Eventually the team is able to free the Unas but Chaka refuses to go since he wants to fight for the freedom of his people on this planet. Image File history File links Stargate-earth-glyph. ...

Chaka again appears in the episode "Enemy Mine", when Daniel calls him to help negotiate with a tribe of Unas on P3X-403. Stargate Command wants to mine Naqahdah on this planet but the local Unas attacked the team on the planet since the area with the Naqahdah is a holy ground for the Unas. According to Daniel Chaka is eager to negotiate with the Unas although there is some hostility towards Chaka by Colonel Edwards, who leads the team on P3X-403. Daniel and Chaka then enter the forest and are able to negotiate a treaty with them although there is nearly a bloodbath when an Earth soldier kills an Unas. In the end it is thanks to Chaka that there isn't a battle and that the Unas agree to mine the Naqahdah. Image File history File links Stargate-earth-glyph. ...
