Channel 6, also marketed as Six, is an Irish cable and satellite television operation, currently available on the Dublin, Galway, and Waterford cable systems formerly owned by NTL, and the nationwide Chorus digital platform (both owned by Liberty Global).
The channel was initially only licenced by Ofcom in the UK for Sky Digital operation, and as such would have been operating as a semi-pirate in broadcasting to Ireland.

Once the Channel 6 station discontinues operation, the micro-power stations will be allowed to migrate to channels 171-200 with their full authorized power and primary status.
Micro-power stations desiring to operate on channels 201 through 300 when interference to Channel 6 is not an issue may be licensed under secondary status with reduced power.
Channel 200 (87.9 MHz) is authorized to Class-D Non-Commercial Educational (NCE-FM) secondary stations to use as a last resort if no other channels between 201 and 300 are available for use.
