"Charlie" Rice was born in 1931 in an Irish Catholic family from New York. He has been a lawyer, a legal scholar, a Catholic Apologist, and the author of 11 books. He is most famous for his historic career at the University of Notre Dame Law school in Notre Dame, IN. He began teaching there in 1969 and in 2000, earned Professor Emeritus status.
