SignOnSanDiego.com > News > World -- Aide calls allegations about Charles 'totally ludicrous' (602 words)
LONDON – Allegations Prince Charles was involved in a scandalous incident are "totally ludicrous," a senior royal aide said Friday, referring to claims by a former royal servant that a court has blocked a newspaper from publishing.
Charles took the highly unusual step Thursday of issuing a statement naming himself as the senior royal at the center of the claims and denying that the alleged unspecified incident ever took place.
Prince Charles' office said last year that Smith did not raise the issue until 1996, at which time it was investigated but not reported to police in part because Smith did not want to pursue the case.
