Charles Gide (1847–1932) was a French economist and notable ideologue of the cooperative movement in the first third of the 20th century. Gide was a professor at the University of Bordeaux, at Montpellier, and finally at Paris, where he established himself as a leading expert on problems of international monetary policy. His book, Consumers' Co-operative Societies, which first appeared in French in 1904, and in English in 1921 is a classic in the field of cooperative economics.
