Charles I (1364 – January 25, 1431) was Duke of Lorraine from 1390 to his death. From his marriage to Margaret, daughter of Rupert of Germany, only two daughters survived childhood: Catherine (1407-1439), married to Jacob I, Margrave of Baden and Isabella of Lorraine (1400-1453), who became Duchess on his death. He was constable of France from 1418 to 1425.
