Charlie Townsend (Charles Lucas Townsend; born November 7, 1876, Bristol; died October 17, 1958, Stockton-on-Tees, Durham, England) was a Gloucestershire cricketer of the 1890s.
Townsend first emerged as a leg break bowler from Clifton College at the tender age of sixteen in 1893.
Townsend was rewarded for his splendid all-round feats with selection as a Wisden Cricketer of the Year, and his jump to the front rank of batsmen continued in the dry summer of 1899, when he made nine centuries, inc luding a brilliant 224 against Essex.
Thornton and Thatch are accused of shooting at Charles Wayne Townsend, 40, of Malden during an alleged altercation on August 20 in the 600 block of Kimball Street in Malden.
During that alleged altercation, Townsend is accused of killing 27-year-old Jimmy Earl Williams, who was found laying in the street in front of 613 Kimball with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
Townsend, who was arrested Tuesday, August 24, continues to be held without bond in the Dunklin County Jail on the charges of Class A felony of first-degree murder and felony f armed criminal action.
