Characters

Charlie Bone- The main character in the series. He starts out as a shy boy then discovers that he can hear the thoughts of people in photographs. He helps Cook maintain the balance of the endowed. There should always be 5 versus 5. He also finds that he's a wizard due to his being related to a powerful Welsh wizard.

Fidelio Gunn- (One of Charlie's friends)- A good friend of Charlie, who is amazing at music though he is not endowed.

Emma Tolly- (One of Charlie's friends)- Emma was lost for the first 10 years of her life after being traded to the Bloor's for a suitcase that could somehow bring back the red king. She can turn into a bird and fly. She is an artist and lives with her aunt Miss Ingledew.

Olivia Vertigo- (One of Charlie's friends)- At first, Olivia was like Fidelio, not being endowed and feeling a tad left out. She was very adventurous, but being the best actress in the school probably kept her from getting expelled. Though in the fourth book she didn't receive the part in a movie she tried out for, then she fell into a big depression which led to the discovery that illusions are her endowment.

Amy Jones- (Charlie's mum)- A kind mother.

Maisie- (Charlie's other grandma)- Maisie was always a bit jealous of the Yewbeams but then she discovered that she is related to a Welsh wizard.

Grandma Bone- (Charlie's mean Grandma, sister of Paton, Lucretia, Venetia and Eustacia)- A most horrible grandmother, who is always trying to persuade Charlie to tell her stuff and always sneaks into his room. She seeks to emulate her three sisters and behaves in a subservient manner towards them.

Uncle Paton- (Charlie's kind great-uncle)- A power booster who stayed in his room until middle of the first book. He is now the mentor of the good endowed and is always willing to help.

Charlie's wicked great-aunts, Lucretia, Venetia and Eustacia- One of them (people often get confused who is who) is a matron at Bloor's.

Benjamin- (One of Charlie's friends)- Charlie's all-time best friend. Ben doesn't go to Bloor's and just went to Hong Kong for 8 months.

Asa Pike- (One of Charlie's enemies; one of the endowed)- He follows Manfred around everywhere and can turn into a wolf at night.

Manfred Bloor- (One of Charlie's enemies; one of the endowed)- A hypnotizer. He is Charlie's arch-enemy.

Gabriel Silk- (One of the endowed; a friend of Charlie's)- Charlie's first known endowed friend. Gabriel can feel thoughts and feeling through clothes.

Dr. Bloor- (Bloors Academy Headmaster; unendowed)

Ezekiel Bloor- (Manfred's great-grandfather; a sorcerer, who isn't very good)

Billy Raven- (A Bloor spy, and a friend of Charlie's; one of the endowed)- At first Billy was a spy for Ezekiel, who promised him parents. For the first three books Billy wasn't sure what side to take.) He can talk to animals.

Zelda Dobinski- (An enemy of Charlie; one of the endowed)- She was an enemy of Charlie though not a very big one. She is telekinetic.

Tancred Torsson- (One of Charlie's friends; one of the endowed)- Tancred is a storm bringer and is best friends with Lysander.

Lysander Sage- (One of Charlie's friends; one of the endowed)- He can call his ancestors and is probably the second most powerful of the endowed so far. He is an African-American.

Lyell Bone- (Charlie's father; endowed; disappeared in 1992 after "breaking the rules")

Joshua Tilpin- (A spy for Bloor's)- He has the power of magnetism and can make people listen to him and be his friend.

Idith and Inez Branko- (endowed)- Twins who are telekinetic. An enemy of Charlie's though not a very big one.
