Charlie was a member of the great Maple Leaf teams of the 1930s and the Leafs first hero. He had a hard shot and this was why he was known as "The Big Bomber". He played on one Stanley Cup Champion, with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1931-32. He led the league in scoring twice. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1961and, later, to Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1975. The fans were very sorry when he died December 30th,1967 of throat cancer.His death led to the formation of the Charlie Conacher Cancer Fund.
