Crop Integration

Vertical and horizontal integration of the food industry both within and without the CP Group is a stated priority of Charoen Pokphand.
Charoen products include hybrid corn, rice, fertilizers, pineapple, guava, mango, bananas, melons, other tropical fruits, orchids, tea, wine, horticultural products, export-quality planting materials, and machinery for agricultural work and food processing.
Charoen Pokphand's Crop Integration Business Group is working in China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia and India. Charoen has an interesting international business mission statement: It is dedicated to “adapting its resources to fit the needs of each region”.

Seeds, Fertilizers and Plant Protection

CP's Chia Tai seed brand holds a significant share in Thailand’s vegetable seed and flower seed market, and exports seeds to other Asian markets. CP has also started developing organic vegetables for the domestic markets.
CP as a company is environmentally aware. CP is developing environmentally safe products and is promoting production methods that emphasize efficient use of chemical compounds in fertilizers and the like. This knowledge is disseminated to Thailand’s farmers via CP’s extensive network of agronomist and plant protection technicians, a more or less grass-roots organization.

Feed

CP is one of the largest feed producers in the world. CP’s feed manufacturing began Thailand in 1954 as an offshoot to its original seed supplying business. Today, the company operates feedmills, producing food for poultry, swine and shrimp, as well as pet food for dogs, cats and fish, in Thailand, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Turkey, Taiwan, the United States and Vietnam.

Poultry

CP’s poultry and duck integration owes its beginning to the strategic alliance with two US-based companies, Arbor Acres (1970) and Avian Farms (1980). Importing parent pig stock from the US, Belgium and Holland, CP has developed its own three cross-breed “superior hybrid” pigs.

Operations

CP’s agro-industry activities are fully integrated, horizontally and vertically. CPF works in animal feed production, breeding, farming systems, meat processing, food production and value-added food products.

Aquaculture

In 1985, the CP Group established Thailand’s Shrimp Culture Research Center, to develop “intensive environmental-friendly shrimp cultivation” as a “model” for other countries; India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and China.
Shrimp Farms and Fish Farms
Under the leasership of Charoen Pokphand Thailand has become the world’s largest producer of shrimp feed and fish feed. Charoen Pokphand is the world’s largest exporter of its black tiger shrimp, or teneaeus monodon to Japan, Europe, China, South Korea, Taiwan and Australia and the United States.
Hybrid Fish
CP Group has also developed Thai fresh water prawns (koong kam kram) and also the Tubtim Fish (Ruby Fish), a hybrid of Tilapia that includes the Nile Tilapia and the Black Tilapia.

Charoen Pokphand's [CP Retail and Marketing]] (CPRAM), BKP, CP Interfood, Star Marketing, Veefoods, Chester’s Grill, and Thai Thai CPRAM’s four frozen food lines, “Jade Dragon”, “Bakerich”, “Le Pain” and “Deli Thai”, as well as most of CP’s food products have received HACCP, ISO 9002 and 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications.

Restaurants

Global Kitchen Co.,Ltd. is included in the CP’s “kitchen of the world” concept and has as its primary mission to be a “World Class Business Group”, initiating new fast, casual concept restaurant chains, around the world, such as “ Thai Thai ” and “ Chester’s Grill ”.

Pet Food and Zoo Feed

The Pet Business Group which includes Perfect Companion Company Limited produces dog, cat, bird, aquarium fish, and horse food, and zoo animal feed, for export. Export destinations include Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan and Taiwan.
