Ch teauroux is a commune of central France, pr fecture (capital) of the Indre d partement. Population (1999): 52,345.


Ch teauroux is the second largest town in Berry, after Bourges.


Ch teauroux was the birthplace of G rard Depardieu (born 1948), actor.
