Although most of the area was only recently reclaimed from the jungle, the temple of Angkor Wat has been maintained continuously by Buddhist monks for hundreds of years.
2001 saw the release of the movie Tomb Raider, filmed on location at various Angkor sites.

ChauSayTevoda is a small temple of similar design and floor plan to that of Thommanon located across the street (except for additional gopuras and library), but for years appeared as Thommanon’s neglected sister, languishing in significantly worse condition than Thommanon, which had been restored back in the 1960s.
ChauSayTevoda seems to stand in partnership with Thommanon, but in fact was built much later in Suryavarman II’s rule.
ChauSayTevoda displays some well-executed carvings that are in still fair condition, especially those on the eastern gopura.
ChauSayTevoda is located in east of the Gate of Victory of Angkor Thom, across the road south from Thommanon, 500metres (1,640feet) off the road.
Background : ChauSayTevoda and Thommanon are two small monuments close together (on the left and right sides of the road) and similar in plan and style.
Layout : ChauSayTevoda is rectangular in plan, with a Central Sanctuary opening to east, an enclosing wall with an entry tower in the middle of the enclosing wall at the east entrance.
