Chazuke (茶漬け) is a simple Japanese food dish, made by pouring boiling green tea or water, over rice. It usually has a topping, such as umeboshi, nori (seaweed), salted codroe, salted salmon, or sea bream. This dish first became popular in the Heian period, when water was most commonly poured over rice, but beginning in the Edo period, tea was often used instead.
Chazuke (or ochazuke) is one of my favorite things to eat.
It's just bits of vegetable or fish, some seasoning (usually something like furekake - dried seaweed, sesame seeds, preserved fish...) on top of rice on which green tea is poured.
But I never in a million years would associate tonkatsu (deep fried pork cutlet) as a chazuke topping.
