=Sub Urban Citizen Sometime it is very surprising to see on what sense the passenger trains are operated.? Way back the British period, if British were thought that only if profitable, the train system would be installed, today most of we would not have seen these railways or the railway employees. I guess the whole purpose were to improve the travel system & see maximum comfort is attained in terms conveyance to the public & self. I feel shame of being born as a sub-urban citizen of chennai city, when you go to employer for a job, the first question asked, can you be able to come in time? This is the brilliant QA has been injected into every employer's blood., Yes! it is just the reflection of experiences they find with employee's who commute by train. There are lot of stories on the way the sub-urban system is operated, here are few points from my own experiences............. - Please find the difference between the word "People & Profit Booking".
(Railway is not a multi national company & government has lot of goodwill & can do subsidize by funds, if required to ensure the conveyance of people(Sub-Urban) who are depend on the livelihood of railway network) - Never compare the Season ticket with Express ticket or even with income from Goods Train operations.
The Metro system is depend by the sub-urbans who is part of the city's activeness & fuel. If city doesn't run, I think there is no question/word arises the "ECONOMY". - In 1980's The traveling time between a Chennai central to a distance of 60 KM was covered in 90 Minutes by EMU train.
Today it takes an average of 120 to 130 Minutes by EMU. The technology is grown to a large extent & the no of commuters have vastly increased, but what is not proportionate is the traveling time (One should experience the Buttock's & knee's blood flowing system during this EMU travel with no bathrooms for urgencies, It is even worse that these days EMU's are running continuously for 4 hours without even single Toilet. the most enjoying situation would be that, once you should try taking your kids for this travel & should experience to compromise your kids to control the Lu(one) & two :) Would u like to try? :) Example train : Fast EMU train running between Chennai Central to Tirupathi. One should praise the authorities who had decided such trains) - Please avoid running Goods trains during the peak hours between "6-9 AM & 5-9 PM at least for "GOD SAKE" I think, God will also loose his patience if he is traveling by this Sub-urban Trains during these hours.
- Please avoid cornering the EMU's for passing the Express train's. That too when the express train is still 10 to 15 minutes away from the EMU to be cornered. At least long trains can cover the timings, but not by the people on return, who normally scheduled to reach interior villages, to travel further by 15 ~20 KM by road.
- Priorities the EMU & local passengers trains, which are departed from sub-urban towns & do not corner them for long trains, on any case, I guess long journey travelers are going to take rest. Not much of them going to mark Attendence. I think take a survey to be sure.
Conclusion : As an human being every Officer is well known on things which are currently being neglected, but I surprise what ego stops them from taking appropriate decision.? Decisions taken today are not for the one who writing or reading this article, it is going to be the platform for the next generation, our next generation. I do emphasis that histories have given us the better living system. It is time for us to give the best to the human system which makes them feel comfortable. Of course travel to a 60KM stretch of Railway network within 70 Minutes by EMU Train(speed 70k mph is enough), we have 120k mph infrastructure what is that stopping to experience this? Do you want to commercialize, people would be ready to pay for it! if you are ready for profit booking |
