Cherkassy is a typical green and calm town of "farmer region" of Ukraine that makes it a good city to live and grow children.
Once founded as a fortress during the last 700 years Cherkassy became a very peaceful "town of brides" - statistically there are 6 girls for every young man living in Cherkassy.
Now Cherkassy is a peaceful town of farmers and small factories, but during the first 400 years after its "birth" as a fortress Cherkassy was a frontier town of the fight against Poland influence.
