Cherry Valley is located at 41°9'26" North, 79°47'53" West (41.157204, -79.798127)¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 7.4 km² (2.9 mi²). 7.4 km² (2.9 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

As of the census² of 2000, there are 72 people, 27 households, and 18 families residing in the borough. The population density is 9.7/km² (25.1/mi²). There are 31 housing units at an average density of 4.2/km² (10.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 27 households out of which 18.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.7% are married couples living together, 0.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% are non-families. 22.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.67 and the average family size is 3.22.
