The Chicago International REEL Shorts Festival is an annual short film competition and screening put on by Project Chicago. Held during Spring, this 3 days event plays host to over 75 films (all under 35 minutes) from many countries through out the world. In 2004 and 2005 the 3 Penny Cinema, in Chicago's Lincoln Park district, was the main venue. Short subject is an American film industry term that historically has referred to any film in the format of two reels, or approximately 20 minutes running time, or less. ... Chicago (officially named the City of Chicago) is the third largest city in the United States (after New York City and Los Angeles), with an official population of 2,896,016, as of the 2000 census. ...
