The story takes place after the "acorn incident" and Chicken Little is getting over the embarrassment by joining his school's baseball team, but soon he finds that another piece of the sky has fallen. Now he must choose between saving his newfound shining reputation or saving the day with his group of misfit friends. In short order that decision is made for him when the sky really does start to fall, but this time from an alien invasion. But seriously, Chicken Little is Disney's first solo stab at a CGI kiddie flick, something that was going to happen sooner or later and which, given Disney's recent track record in animation, has had most moviegoers scared silly.
In the 2005 version, Chicken Little (voiced by an unrecognizable Zach Braff) is a runt of a kid, the son of a widower father (Garry Marshall) who's beloved among town as a former school baseball hero.
And while the wee Chicken Little has a great degree of detail to his feathery body, most of the characters are rather rubbery, and their environments tend to be staid.

When Chicken Little first alerts the citizens of the sleepy little hamlet called Oakey Oaks that the sky is falling, the alarm bells put into play a series of calamitous events that lead to the toppling of the village’s water tower.
Chicken Little suffers from many problems, but its biggest is that it is only kinda funny and while Disney’s aim is to make smart, witty, computer-animated fare like those made by Pixar, the jokes here are out of whack.
Chicken Little’s the product of a single parent home; while the fate of his mother is left untold, Chicken Little is reared by his father, who was a middle school baseball star.
