Trivia - Wills was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 1960 for his role as the Beekeeper in the film "Alamo". Many believe that he would have won the award if not for his aggressive campaign. Instead Peter Ustinov won for his role in Spartacus.

- In the 1960s and thru up to the 1980s Chill Wills was a Television Vicoe of Benny Binnons Horseshoe Club Hotel and Casino located on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. Mrs. Wills used to invite everyone down to have their Photo taken in front of one million in cash and was doing this ad while riding his horse. His ads were loved by all and really a part of Las Vegas history as much as Elvis or the Rat Pack. When Mr. Wills was in town you could see him driving his Eldorado Cadillac Convertible with its huge Long Horns on the front and its Spencer Repeating Rifles in their holsters on each door.
- His most famous line was to advertize the great steaks and food at Horseshoe Cafe. His quote was in his tremendous gravely deep voice.
