Chinde, Mozambique is a town of Portuguese East Africa, chief port for the Zambezi valley.

CHINDE, a town of Portuguese East Africa, chief port for the Zambezi valley and British Central Africa, at the mouth of the Chinde branch of the Zambezi, in 18° 40 S., 36° 30' E. Pop.
Large steamers are unable to cross the bar, over which the depth of water varies from o to 18 ft. Chinde owes its existence to the discovery in 1889 that the branch of the river on the banks of which it is built is navigable from the ocean (see Zambezi).
This block of land is known as the British Concession, or British Chinde.

Chinde Ram is a laborer by profession who met with an accident in 1997 in which the bones in his right leg were fractured.
However, Chinde Ram was misled that he hadn't been receiving the best treatment, and so after a month he took a discharge from the hospital against medical advice and consulted a private practitioner outside the hospital.
Chinde Ram then decided to come again to Rajindra Hospital where the doctors decided to re-operate on his leg and used an "Illezeroy fixator" to his diseased tibia.
