Encyclopedia > Chinese Military Academy
Chinese: 陸軍官校, pinyin: lůjǘn guānxiŕo, literally "Army Officer School") is the military academy of the Republic of China and is located in Fengshan, Kaohsiung County, Taiwan. Established in 1950 after the loss of mainland China by the Kuomintang in the Chinese Civil War the academy traces its roots to the Whampoa Military Academy. Modelled after the United States Military Academy, its four-year program trains officers for the Army of the Republic of China.
