Chingo Bling parodies popular rap songs into comedy, while rapping in broken English as part of his image, however, he is fluent in English. Chingo Bling's attire is a cross between hip-hop urban wear and Mexican cowboy wear. His outfit includes:

Chingo Bling is known for his unique approach in merchandising items. Aside from the regular merchandise such as t-shirts, hats, DVDs and CDs, he promoted his own product lines which where atypical for rappers.


Among the most notable items are:

  • Bobble heads: Limited edition bobble heads made in his likeness include G.I. Chingo, Chingo Bling Blue Jersey, Chingo Bling Green Jersey, Chingo Bling Black Jersey, and Slabble Head, which features the bobble head driving a red car similar to the one he actually drives as part of the set up.
  • Hot sauce: He has also created his own version of hot sauce. The label depicts him breathing fire, comically implying the hot sauce really is that hot.
  • Tamale Ornaments: First appearing in 2005, these are miniature versions of tamales, a holiday staple in most Latin homes. These are meant to decorate Christmas trees. The original tamales came three in a miniature wooden box and his holiday CD.
  • Coloring Books: Intended for children, Chingo Bling's coloring books is 20 pages long and features caricatures of Chingo Bling and friends.

In early 2006, Chingo Bling made headlines when he drew the attention of major record labels eager to sign him, including Bad Boy Latino, Universal Records, Asylum (owned by Warner Music Group), Capitol Records, and Atlantic Records.[3] On April 1, 2006, he made the announcement on Chicano Radio Network that he has signed a distribution deal Asylum Records.[4] While he still maintains his independent status from the label, his $80 million dollar distribution deal will manage to give him major financial backing for his up coming projects[2]. Controversy

Chingo Bling has been criticized for the title of his upcoming album "They Can't Deport Us All". He was interviewed in CW39 News and said his family taco truck has been shot at, vandalized and eventually stolen. He also stated he has been receiving racist death threats, but still does not wish to change his album's title.


Chingo also alleges that he was refused the opportunity to appear at a scheduled in-store album signing at a Dallas shopping mall as a direct result of the controversy surrounding his clothing and album name.[2]. He also asserts that is the target of numerous Conservative journalists and bloggers who criticize him because of his music and marketing concepts related to immigration[2].

Chingo Bling was also featured with Nelly and Paul Wall on a remix of Nelly's "Grillz" song. He has made cameos in Chamillionaire's videos "Turn It Up" and "Ridin'". He was also featured in Pepsi's Yahoo!
