History / Building

CHHS originally began in 2001 in a modular campus, with approximately 500 freshmen. As each year progressed, a new grade was added (year one: freshman; year two: sophomore, etc.). By the third year (the first year with juniors), the full campus was completed. It is the only school in the Chino Valley Unified School District that has a state of the art auditorium. Its school stadium was completed in September 2006, with an opening football game against Tesoro High School, which CHHS won. The stadium seats about 4,000 people. In 2007 Chino Hills High became the only school in the CVUSD to have a health science program for students interested in being in health or science careers. Currently Freshman are the only class with the opportunity to be in this exciting new program, but as each year progresses a new grade will be able to participate in the program if it goes as expected. Layout

Chino Hills High School is divided into 6 quads. They are named: 30's quad, 40's quad, 50's quad, ASB quad, The Modular Campus, and Entry Quad. It is called the modular campus because is is a series of portale buildings that are achored to the ground. It is two stories high.

  • The 30's quad is home to the Band Room, English, and several Science classrooms.
  • The 40's quad is home to the Math Classes and more Science classes.
  • The 50's quad is home to the foreign language classes, history classes, library, and the small or glacier gym.
  • The ASB quad is home to mainly the ASB room, the Student Store, elective classes, ceramics, stage craft, sports medicine classes, and the large or avalanche gym
  • The modular campus is home to various English, math, history, elective, and foreign language classes. It is mainly home to the Special Education Department
  • The Entry Quad is home to the Career Center, Culinary Arts Classes, Dance Classes.
  • The Administrative Building has the administrative offices, the nurse's office, attendance office, and the swithchboard.
  • The theater building is home to the choir classroom, theater, and band room.

Marching band

Chino Hills High School's marching band (the Marching Huskies, aka the Arctic Thunder) were crowned the 2006 SCSBOA Division 3A champions . The band has also made it to regionals, scoring straight superiors (the highest ranking possible) at festival. The drumline placed silver in the World Class Division, while colorguard also won many events. In 2007, the band placed second in WBA 3A division, while drumline took home high percussion. In 2008, CHHS' Drumline was ranked 6th in the World.
