For the application of chirped mirrors, the case of an octave-spanning continuum is particularly challenging in terms of bandwidth.
The design of the chirped mirrors was based on a measurement of the group delay, which was determined from a spectrally resolved cross-correlation between the supercontinuum and the 25-fs laser pulses directly from the amplifier.
