A smooth whisky with a honeyed, mellow taste. Chivas Regal Gold Signature 18 Year Old: Blended from whiskies matured for at least 18 years. Aromas of buttery toffee, dark chocolate and dried fruits. Hints of spices. Chivas Regal 25 Year Old: Created using rare, aged whiskies of at least 25 years, Chivas Regal 25 is available only in limited quantities with a selling price of around $300. The blend has tasting notes of apricot and peach.
History 1640: The House of Schivas, a large mansion is built at Schivas in Aberdeenshire, from the Gaelic 'seamhas', meaning narrow place. For centuries, people nearby took the name of Chivas. 1801: Chivas Brothers grocery store originally opened in Aberdeen. James and John Chivas became renowned for being passionate about quality, selling rich coffee, exotic spices, the finest French brandies, and rums from the Caribbean to a wealthy clientele. They decided to produce a smooth blended whisky as an alternative to the whiskies available at that time which were harsh and poorly matured. 1843: Queen Victoria loved Scotland and Chivas Brothers became her local supplier of food, liqueurs and spirits.
