The Chocolate Gourami (Sphaerichthys osphromenoides) is a small species of gourami reaching a length of up to 5 cm and can be found in the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo. They are beautiful fishes that have a delightful chocolate colour and have golden bands running down its body. As a result of this, they are popular aquarium fishes but they are a challenging species to keep in an aquarium. They require soft, acidic water and are generally fussy eaters, prefering to eat livefoods or freeze-dried, frozen equivalents.
