Chola Nadu is a region of Tamil Nadu state in southern India. It encompasses the lower reaches of the Cauvery (Kaveri) River and the Cauvery Delta, and is named for the Chola dynasty, who ruled the region from the 1st century to the 13th century, although the Cholas were at times eclipsed by other Tamil dynasties, notably the Pandyas to the south and the Pallavas to the northeast.
