The Cholado is like a cold drink, it could be made from crushed ice and mixed with artificial flavors which give color to it, like orange , red or purple, and at the top have a small amount of sweetened milk. It can also be made from crushed ice and natural fruits mixed together; the fruits will be cut in small pieces and added to the mix, the fruits used in this case could be: passion fruit, lulo, lemon, strawberry,bananas, etc, and at the top the same sweetened milk. It is a very refreshing drink and can be obtained very easily within the city. Jamundi is well known for its Cholados.

Despite the neat packaging, it is difficult to consume a cholado without dripping condensed milk all over your clothes, so I usually take mine home and center it on a plate (see left).
