South Korea. It is located in the metropolitan city of Gwangju, which lies in the middle of South Jeolla, or Jeonnam, province, for which the school is named. The current president is Kang Jung-chae. It employs about 800 professors. In 2003, the university carried an undergraduate enrollment of 18,397, and a graduate enrollment of 3,372.
