The station's main aim is to involve as many from the local community as possible, for different aspects of the launch and operation. Shortly after being granted their licence, the Chorley FM team created a competition in association with the Chorley Citizen newspaper, asking members of the community to design a logo for the station to use throughout its life, which was won by then 15 year old, Rhys Griffiths. During October 2007 the station came under some criticism on its own website forum from some of its listeners about the content output. Highlighting the extreme natures of music and that Chorley FM didn't know what it's target audience was. Shows include, the popular Flat Iron Show (featuring unsigned local bands). A rock show.
