In 2005, he representes District 9, which includes parts of Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant Counties, including parts of Dallas and Fort Worth, and other localities. According to his website, his policy priorities include economic growth, care for the aged or disabled, higher education, the environment, and child support. From 2003-2006, Harris has chaired the Senate Administration Committee, which handles the internal operations of the Texas Senate. Harris is also a member of the Senate Jurisprudence Committee, Senate State Affairs Committee, and Senate Government Organization Committee. Harris also serves on the TX Legislative Council and the State Preservation Board. During 2001, Harris chaired the Senate Finance Committee and served on the Senate Health & Human Services Committee and Senate State Affairs Committee. He also served on the TX Sunset Commission and the Legislative Budget Board. Chris Harris was born on February 22, 1948 in Pasadena, California. He was graduated from Arlington High School, attended Texas Christian University, and was graduated from Baylor Law School in 1971.
