Furr was commissioned to paint the Queen in 1995 by the Royal Overseas League in London after the Queen chose him from a number of artists. The portrait was completed at Buckingham Palace. Furr painted Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor for Westminster Cathedral in 2002. Robinsons commissioned the artist to mark 70 years on Centre Court last in 2005.
