Christian Gomez (born October 28, 1979 in Quebec City, Canada) is a fashion photographer who currently resides in Canada. Gómez began photography in 2002 when his fiance, Emilie Simard, a VFS (Vancouver Film School) gradutate needed a portfolio to showcase her work. Christian Gomez began shooting photos of models for her portfolio and that's how he started. Within weeks they became a modeling agency's official photo team. In April 2003, 5 months after starting photography they were asked to do their first publication, for M&M Magazine in Florida. They did 3 consecutive editorials for that magazine. In 2003, they shot for 10 different magazines and Christian Gomez focuses from that point on, on being a photographer full-time. At that time, Christian Gomez opened his own website: http://www.christiangomez.com In 2004, Gomez joined Brian Tuppert, Editor-in-Chief, to help them increase the level of quality of the magazine and its sales. Christian Gomez was appointed Photo Editor and Art Director of the publication, he did 4 issues and left after showing he had helped the magazine gain in popularity and acceptance. In 2005, Christian Gomez was approached by the king of magazines, Claude J. Charron in hopes of him joining the Team at Charron & Cie, to create photography for their publications (LA SEMAINE, Tele Semaine and others to come). Which he did in February of that year. In mid-2005, Gomez also created Canada's biggest calendar: The Montreal Alouettes Cheerleader Calendar. He also was nominated as Best International Fashion Photographer of the year (2004) in January of that year. These days, Gomez is still working with Charron & Cie as well as a independant photographer for various magazines and clients. |
