Christina Gonzalez is a general assignment reporter for KTTV Fox 11 in Los Angeles. She covers breaking news stories, to special investigations and features. She has received numerous awards for her work in broadcasting including local area Emmy Awards, Golden Mike Awards, and awards from the Los Angeles Press Club. As an active community supporter, Christina has earned recognition from several Southland organizations and city governments, including the Los Angeles City Council and The California House of Representatives. Prior to KTTV, Gonzalez anchored the 6pm and 10pm newscasts for KMEX, the Los Angeles affiliate of Univision. In 1990, upon joining FOX, she became the first journalist from a Spanish language Station to successfully "cross over" to English Language TV news. Her career in Phoenix, Arizona, where she worked at KTVW as a general assignment reporter in the mid 80s. Prior to that, she hosted popular talk shows and anchored news updates for KVVA Radio in Phoenix, and produced shows for WNWS in Miami, Florida. She is a New York City native, and graduated cum laude from the University of Miami, with a degree in international finance and marketing. She is a member of American Women in Radio and Television, the California Chicano News Media Association, Women in Film, the American Association of University Women and the Los Angeles Press Club.
