Evans, who was "discovered" by 1960s folk sensation Peter Yarrow and studies with Celine Dion's vocal coach in New York City, enrolled at the Academy last fall after attending Interlochen's summer camp the year before.
Evans is the latest young singer/songwriter to emerge from a Vancouver Island music scene that has given the world jazz vocalist Diana Krall and pop artist Nelly Furtado.
