Alan Miller grew up in Chigaco during the "roaring war years". As an adolecent, he was involved with a lot of street gangs and criminal activity. His father was a lutenant of Chicago County Police. Alan dropped out of high school at the age of sixteen, working instead as a dishwasher and cook, roaming around the United States. He then joined the military at age 18, completeing his military GED, which earned him 18 units. Miller used the 18 units towards his first academic career at Los Angeles City College, where he studied accounting for two years. He later changed his graduate to General Psychology, earning Masters Degrees in Experimental Psychology and Medical Education and Counciling.
