Personal life

Masterson was born in Long Island, New York, the son of Carol, a manager, and Peter Masterson, an insurance agent.[1] He currently resides in Los Angeles. Masterson's older brother Danny played Hyde in That '70s Show. Their parents divorced in 1984. His mother remarried and had two more children: his half-brother Jordan (Jordy) Masterson, also an actor, and half-sister, Alanna Masterson, who appeared on "Malcolm in the Middle" and the Young and the Restless. In 2006, Masterson took on a starring role in two independent film projects: Waterborne and Intellectual Property. Waterborne is a story about a group of Los Angeles residents who attempt to cope with life after a terrorist attack against their water supply. Waterborne premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival and won the Audience Award. Chris embarked his second project, Intellectual Property, as the leading role and as a producer. Set in the midst of the Cold War, Masterson is Paul, an inventor who goes to great lengths to protect his inventions. Waterborne is a 2005 independent film by Indian American film maker Ben Rekhi about the fates of three different groups of people after a terrorist attack pollutes the water supply of Los Angeles, resulting in a severe water shortage. ...
