In 1992, Christopher and other long-time friends and Oxford natives began the band 12 Rods. The group moved to Minneapolis in 1995. In the summer of 2003, Christopher was hired by Japanese band Quruli (くるり) as a support musician to fill the position as drummer for the band temporarily for summer festival performances. However, in November of 2003 he was hired by Quruli as a full-time member.[2] He continued on with the group, both recording and touring with them for the next 11 months. In October of 2004 it was announced that Christopher would be leaving Quruli due to creative differences.[3] Since his departure, the group has only filled the position of drummer with support musicians. While in Japan, Christopher produced the second CD for Tokyo band Squadcar. He noted the experience as "killer". He has also done production work for Minneapolis bands Barfly and Great Girls Blouse.
