Liberal Leadership (1933 words)
We all know that Christopher is desperate for a change of leadership; he'd be measuring up a ministerial office on the strength of it, and interestingly, tonight, he's raised the prospect of some secret deal.
CHRISTOPHER PYNE: Well, Maxine, firstly, I didn't say that there was any agreement between the Prime Minister and the Treasurer arising out of their meeting on Monday.
CHRISTOPHER PYNE: When Mark Latham fell over, Julia Gillard didn't have the backbone to go into the House and say one nice thing about the man who's put her in the position that she is today.
Liberal Party and the social contract (1090 words)
According to Mr Pyne: “The next challenge for the centre-right of politics in Australia is to contemporise and evolve the social contract”.
Though Pyne made no reference to the Will the idea of the individual having an obligation to the community is an unconscious expression of points 2 and 3 and thus a clear denial of individual sovereignty.
Pyne’s assertion that there is a “clear nexus” between his fictitious partnership and “sustained economic growth” is collectivist nonsense and is based on the implicit assumption that the role of self-interest is insufficient or even negative and thus market processes are either none existent or inadequate.
